CPCS was created in order to work with and for the hundreds of street and working children of Nepal, living under
very difficult circumstances and generally deprived of any social support. CPCS is a local NGO registered with the
government of Nepal since 2004. Its work and bases were established on the 19th of July 2002. CPCS works with and
for the street children with common respect and understanding.

We work according to 2 objectives :
1. Risk Reduction : Short term actions to reduce the dangers of street life.
2. Social Rehabilitation : Long term plans to reintegrate the child back into society.
CPCS is based in Kathmandu, Narayangadh, Butwal and Dolakha.
Daily, up to 350 children are supported through field activities, 350 to 400 sheltered in our socialisation shelters, 300 former street children are going to school, 100 are sheltered in our rehabilitation centres and dozens are helped by our medical and legal services.
CPCS receives help and support from many single individuals, schools, institutions and organizations. Our main working partners are GRT (Italy), the Vieujant Foundation, the “Association des Amis de Sœur Emmanuelle” and SOS Enfants Abandonnés (Belgium), the Simons Foundation through the Himalayan Foundation, the American Himalayan Foundation itself (United States), the Embassy of Finland (Kathmandu).
CPCS NGO is also connected with other countries through the International Network of Street Workers (coordinated by Dynamo International) and is
represented in Europe by CPCS International (Belgian organisation).
CPCS works on 25 programs, actions for between 700 and 900 street children each month :

1. Socialisation Shelter facilities for 200 to 300 children daily.
2. Informal Education Service working and meeting with 120 to 160 children daily.
3. Field Activities in all Kathmandu Valley meeting 100-150 children daily.
4. Emergency line 24 hours.
5. Clinic service- medical care for 600 to 800 children monthly.
6. Counselling - Psychological support for 100 to 120 children monthly.
7. Research about physical, moral and sexual abuses.
8. Sport Activities for 100-200 children daily.
9. Cultural Activities for 100-200 children daily.
10. Youth Empowerment Programs for 10-20 youth.
11. Family visit and reunification for 20-30 children, monthly.
12. Schooling Support for 170 children.
13. Anti-drugs and other campaigns with the Valley police touching a large public.
14. Socialization-alphabetization class for 100-200 children daily.
15. International and local Awareness raising about children rights and street children situation in Nepal.
16. Local Networking and International Partnerships.
17. Street-Arts rehabilitation process for 30-40 children.
18. Hygiene - clothes distribution for 300 children monthly.
19. 400 to 600 safety lockers for working children.
20. Leisure activities as picnic camps, games in the open.
21. Kitchen club fooding 300-400 children daily.
22. Child self-esteem upgrading process.
23. Children library and literacy classes for 100 children daily.
24. Child social rehabilitation process. Social Rehabilitation for 35-100 children yearly.
25. Child rights protection programs - security and legal help. Court actions.
